Join Charleston Waterkeeper, Groundswell PR and Blue Ion Outpost on Thursday, January 24, 2019, for a night of film, drinks and conversation about wild rivers and clean waterways. We'll screen the new Patagonia film, Blue Heart, which tells the story of the fight for the last free flowing rivers in Europe.
Charleston Waterkeeper will be the local water partner for the evening, and will receive the proceeds from all ticket sales. After the film Andrew Wunderley, the leader of Charleston Waterkeeper, will share a few words about their work in Charleston and the major issues we should tune into.
If that doesn't sound amazing enough, we'll also have a drawing among attending ticket buyers for some sweet outdoor gear/merch prizes, courtesy of the crew at Groundswell.

Film Background
The Balkan region—richly diverse in cultures, languages and history—is home to the last wild rivers on the European continent. The region is considered the Blue Heart of Europe. However, a hydropower gold rush is putting these rivers at risk: Hydropower is the only “renewable” energy source sending species to extinction, displacing people globally, and contributing to climate change.
This new documentary Blue Heart follows the campaign and other, local stakeholders through the Balkans to document the negative impacts on Europe’s last free flowing rivers and the communities who live by them.
Blue Heart was produced by Farm League on behalf of Patagonia. You can watch the trailer and read more about the campaign here - https://blueheart.patagonia.com

Notes
Please note that there is no elevator access to the 2nd floor where the film will be viewed.
Some seating wil be provided, but please feel free to bring a foldling camping chair or a blanket to maximize your comfort.
