Description

Marine Corps 101 & Behind the Scenes Tour

Event Details

Graduation-week Wednesdays consists of several events available to you.

The first presentation, Marine Corps 101, is held at 10 a.m.
This brief highlights some of the history and traditions of the Marine Corps, as well as the core values held by all Marines.

Following this presentation, two “Behind the Scenes” tours are offered – the first tour departs at 11:00 a.m. and the second departs at noon.

Passengers will tour the Depot on a tram, with a guided tour providing highlights of recruit training and Parris Island history.

The second presentation is the Family Orientation Brief.

This brief provides families with information about Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) and the services it provides to your Marine, regardless of where they are stationed.

Next, the battalion executive officer provides information regarding your Marine’s next evolution in training and possible duty stations after their training is completed.

At the end of the presentation families are encouraged to ask questions.

All events are FREE, however seating is limited for all briefings and tours, and advanced registration is highly encouraged. Seating for both briefs are on a first come first serve basis.

Seating for the “Behind the Scenes” tours are priority based.

Those who pre-registered online will be first to board the trams.

Those without an online pre-registration may have an opportunity to experience the “Behind the Scenes” tour via a stand-by line and space availability.

All pre-registered guests MUST check in the Douglas Visitors Center on Wednesday prior to 11:00 a.m.

If the date you wish to attend does not appear in the drop down menu, unfortunately that means seating for that particular day is full.

We work hard not to turn away anyone who would like to attend. You may still arrive on the day you wish to attend and see if there is any standing room available.

There is a limit of 4 tickets per order, please be considerate of other families when pre-registering.

In the event that this event has reached capacity, the Depot Museum provides information for the Iron Mike self-guided driving tour in your own vehicle.

The information provided will help guide you to points of interest around the depot.
