Chambers Waterfront Park, also known as Waterfront Park, is one of the most popular gathering places in Beaufort. The Waterfront Park is formally named after Beaufort’s 1969 mayor, Henry C. Chambers, a fifth generation Beaufortonian. Chambers was a major advocate for the building of the park, which finally broke ground in 1976.
