The Songwriter Series
Dockery’s is bringing together an amazing lineup of some of country music’s finest songwriters paired with some of Charleston’s very own troubadours. Come listen to the stories behind how some of your favorite country songs came to be as these Nashville legends play their hits and give quick interviews about themselves during the Dockery’s Songwriter Series! Charleston songwriters will be selected from those who've submitted entries into the Dockery's Songwriting Contest and will be announced once selected. Kickin' Country's TJ Phillips will MC the evening.
About Bobby Tomberlin
Grammy, CMA, and ACM nominee Bobby Tomberlin began his career in the music business at the early age of eleven as a disc jockey in his hometown of Luverne, Alabama. During this time, he interviewed legends such as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Keith Whitley. Mel Tillis gave Bobby his first publishing contract, and he is currently a staff songwriter for CURB Music Publishing in Nashville, TN.
Bobby was one of the stars of the CMT hit series, The Singing Bee, for five seasons and has starred in several films including Wheeler, co-staring Stephen Dorff and Kris Kristofferson. Bobby has performed on the Grand Ole Opry and is a regular at the legendary Bluebird Cafe.
