About Hilton Head Island

Hilton Head Island, South Carolina is nestled in one of the largest island chains north of the Bahamas and is the ideal location due to its proximity to such cities as Savanna, GA; Jacksonville, FL; and Charleston, SC. Being that Hilton Head is in a sub-tropical climate, families can enjoy mild temperatures year round which makes the island an ideal vacation destination. Designed by famous golf architects, Hilton Head has twenty four courses offering superb playing options for beginners and professionals alike. An assortment of nature and biking trails wind their way along the twelve miles of coastline and are great for spotting otters, dolphins, alligators; and, if you?re lucky, maybe one of the island?s hard-to-pin-down bob cats. (Bob cats tend to shy away from people.) Set up as a resort town, Hilton Head is also a wonderful place to live and the thousand people per year increase in population can attest to that. Folks come to visit and never want to leave. An excellent school systems makes Hilton Head an easy choice for parents. On the island, you won?t find too many neon signs or other glittery beacons in the night with the exception of their lighthouse in Harbor Town that cost only a buck to explore. Natural beauty is the name of this island?s game. If you want a get-a-way from the hustle and bustle or if you?re in need of a breath of sea air, Hilton Head is the perfect destination spot for your trip.
